THE AURENDA SPIRIT

Aurenda is committed to the community we operate within. We are a Founding Partner of the Red Sky Ride; support a number of community events; and promote health, sportsmanship and fitness amongst our younger generation through our sponsorship of a number of sporting teams.

Red Sky Ride

Aurenda is proud to be a Founding Partner of the Red Sky Ride: 20 cyclists riding 1,000 km through regional WA over seven days to support SolarisCare Cancer Support Centres. We are well on our way to our goal of raising $1 million over five years, with nearly $300,000 raised in March 2009 to top up the $150,000 raised in the inaugural event in March 2008.

Michael is training and fundraising for the 2010 event, which occurs from 7 to 14 March, with a target of $450,000 for this year.

The Aurenda Jellyfish

Our youngest superstars play for 'Jellyfish', the under-7s tee ball team sponsored by Aurenda for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. The Aurenda Jellyfish are part of the Secret Harbour Pirates District Tee Ball Association.

For the under-7s age group, the emphasis is on learning the skills to play tee ball, rather than on competition. Nonetheless, the Aurenda Jellyfish won a number of their games during the season by staying focussed and overtaking the opposition in the final innings!

UPDATE! Four of the players who played on the Aurenda Jellyfish as under-7s have now progressed to the under-9s and in late 2008 were members of a state under-9s team that won the South West Championships.

Wembley Wolves

Aurenda sponsored the under-15s Wembley Wolves lacrosse team for the 2006 winter season. They had a great season and won both the minor premiership and the grand final!

Subiaco-Floreat Colts

The Subiaco-Floreat Colts (under-21s) cricket team was sponsored by Aurenda for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. They did us proud, winning the 2008 shield against Wanneroo in a nail-biting final.

Cape Creepers and Crawlers

In 2007, Aurenda sponsored a group of very brave mums from Augusta. Their aim was to walk Cape-to-Cape, in stages, while their children were in school! Money raised from their adventure went towards providing sporting equipment for the Augusta Primary School.
